Inward Facing Camera claim update

The inward facing camera claim was progressed under Section 3 of the Railway Labor Act to a Special Board of Adjustment with Neutral member Edwin Benn. Arbitrator Benn ruled that it is the managerial right of the railroad to install and operate inward facing cameras. This ends our dispute and it is no longer necessary to file claims.

Note that this does not end our interaction with BNSF management about the reasonable use of these recordings. As you can see, the arbitrator was also compelled to remark on the possibility that they could be used as a tool for harassment. If, or when, that occurs, we will fight them tooth and nail to assure our member’s rights and dignity are addressed.
