UPDATE 7 – Mobility retirement

Brief update on progress being made since implementation.  These first two weeks we have been focusing on performance and we have made some significant improvements.

  • Afternoon of July 1st – Enhancement was made to increase the capacity to authenticate users.
  • Afternoon of July 2nd – We noticed a server that was not operating as desired and it was removed from the cluster to speed up service.
  • Afternoon of July 9th – Another enhancement was made to the authentication process to reduce duplicate and redundant authentication request.

Below you will notice feedbacks spiked on the 8th and 9th, this was due to the slow performance of the Hub. Once the fix was moved into production the afternoon of the 9th, the feedbacks dropped significantly.

Multifactor Authentication (MFA) is a concern we are still receiving.  With the constant threat of a cyberattack to the BNSF network, it is imperative, we use MFA to help protect employee’s and BNSF’s data.  However, we are looking at opportunities to streamline the MFA process so it is more user friendly.

We are still actively working on fixes and enhancements, some of which are bolding trains in order and final status along with the indicators “O and F” for easier visibility, rearranging the menu order for easier navigation, adding the available date and time on the inactive board, adding additional information in a pop-up when clicking on an employee’s name in board standing, ability to clear TVAs and many more.
